How do I build website so people can buy things online?
I’ve built a few websites but never one that allows people to buy goods online. A friend has asked me to build a site for his bicycle shop so he can sell items online, I’d appreciate advice about how to go about doing this. Thanks.
Probably the best way to do this fr FREE would be to install OSCommerce (http://www.oscommerce.com/) A free online shop program featuring order history, shopping carts, full search capability, product reviews, secure transactions etc.
This comes with a crappy out of the box template but there are loads of good looking tehmpalte out there, some free some not. In my opinion OSCommerce is a great option.

A lot of sites allow you to buy complete ‘shop’ packages, but the easiest, cheapest & most viewed by a mile is an Ebay shop – you just can’t beat the coverage for the price.

Check out http://www.zencart.com – a shopping cart system with override templates for design purposes.
