Also with all those color meaning in the mind dont forget about color harmony in general, make sure colors you use are compatible with each other. Whites, light grays, light browns/tans, or light blues. The background color isn't going to put your users in a shopping mood. Highlighting your featured products and including large, detailed photos of items with detailed descriptions are the things that really attract shoppers and convince them it's time to buy.
