What is the best way to build an online store?

I am selling plus size clothing on ebay and would like to just have a store of my own. The fees are ridiculous. What would be the best way to go about doing this and aside from having a few customers from ebay, how do a build up my customers and promote my store? I saw Amazon has a store you can build. Is that a good option?

Start with an E-foundation, and some e-2×4′s, start throwing stuff together, and eventually….you’ll have an e-building suitable for e-commerce.

It’s easy as E-pie!

Seriously though….I believe Yahoo actually has a way to set up stores as well as the ones you mentioned. I know I ordered T-shirts off one, and ethernet cables off another.

You can set up an on-line store through the Quick Shopping cart at http://www.boyblu.net. With Quick Shopping Cart, you can create and publish a stand-alone Internet store or add one to your existing Web site in a matter of minutes. Accept PayPal® and credit cards, offer multiple shipping options, issue coupons -all via your secure site. And there’s NO "percentage of sales" fee!

Once your site it set up, you can send out links to your store via email to current contacts, list your site on free on-line directories, put the info & web address on business cards, and use the good old fashion word of mouth as ways to spread the word.

    Good luck!!
